Begin a New LifeIn the last two decades I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some very successful entrepreneurs. Each one had transformational insight to share of which caused me to begin a new life, again and again. Well… not an entirely new life, but I did begin a new life several times in the world of entrepreneurship. Meaning, I would re-start my business from scratch, as if it were Day 1. I would analyze how I did things, employ new mindsets, habits, strategies and systems of which each time I became more efficient and productive. Although I will never stop learning, I’m fairly confident that I know the major “no no’s” of entrepreneurship and I have a firm grasp on the basics of entrepreneurship that produce consistent predictable results.

Whether you already are an entrepreneur looking for an edge or out to begin a new life as an entrepreneur, the following should make a difference in your current endeavor and/or start you off right in your new one. Don’t waste this time here. Incorporate the lessons I’ve learned from Hard Knock University and save yourself decades of slow-growth, if you grow at all. You see entrepreneurs tend to unknowingly limit their progress and success for a variety of reasons. The obvious reasons are a lack of resources and capital, a lack of experience, employee struggles and the not so obvious reason… a disempowering mindset.

To begin a new life as an entrepreneur, you can easily avoid these challenges by first… taking your focus off of them, and second… placing your focus on the following three steps.

Step One : Elevate Your Values

Whenever you decide to genuinely make a change, in this case begin a new life, the first necessary action is to elevate your values. Frequently, I’m asked how I was able to pull myself from grocery bagger to successful real estate investor in just a few years. That question is becoming a very popular one as so many today are literally being forced to begin a new life. I tell them that I sat down one day and made a list of what I was no longer going to tolerate in my life. No more living paycheck to paycheck, no more disempowering relationships, no more making excuses and no more playing the victim of my circumstances. If you want your world to change, you have to change things in your world.

Step Two: Monitor Your Thoughts and Beliefs

If you begin a new life by elevating your values but lack the proper thoughts and beliefs that will enable you to meet them, you’re already dead in the water. You might as well not even try. In fact, without the proper thoughts and beliefs you probably won’t try, or won’t try for very long. Our thoughts shape every word we utter and every action we take, and for that reason you must change and monitor your beliefs to match that of who you want to become. If you don’t, it doesn’t matter how high you’ve elevated your values because you’ll never have the certainty and principles to support them. You must take control of your thoughts and beliefs. You must be intentional about it. To begin a new life, I recommend to everyone that I personally coach that they take this free thought assessment at https://ThinkWithIntent.com. It will give you an idea of what you think about most of the time and how your thoughts and beliefs are affecting your outside world like your relationships, your finances and your health. Change the inside and the outside follows. Save a bunch of time and frustration and take the free assessment.

Step Three: Alter Your Approach

To begin a new life as an entrepreneur, you will need a sound approach for producing success. When your values are elevated and your thoughts and beliefs are in alignment with those values, the right approach will reveal itself. In other words… where there’s a will, there’s a way. To discover the right approach, the best approach, with velocity you will want to find a mentor or a role-model. Identify and get as close as you can to someone who is already doing what you want to do, someone who has what you want to have. Not only is this the most effective strategy in finding the right entrepreneurial approach for you, it is the fastest. By tapping into the experience and wisdom of someone who’s been there before will save you the time of reinventing the wheel. Sure you may add your own shape to the wheel making it work better for you, but the wheel will at least work right from the beginning.

Elevate your values, monitor your thoughts and beliefs, and alter your approach (find a mentor) as you begin a new life as an entrepreneur and you’re 99.9% of the way there. Cheers, peace and blessings to you.
