Live Life to the Fullest, or else…

If you could live life to the fullest, would you? That’s not a trick question, by the way. Here’s what I mean…

Do you remember when George W. Bush replaced Bill Clinton as president, the world was first introduced to Harry Potter, the X-box entered the gaming arena, the second generation of reality T.V. hit the airwaves with the likes of Fear Factor and The Amazing Race, and Britney Spears managed to capture her third straight year as Google’s #1 search term? Gasoline was $1.46 a gallon, the RIAA shut down Napster, the Russian space station Mir was decommissioned and fell to earth, Enron filed Chapter 11, Apple released the iPod, the Mars Odyssey space craft landed hoping to reveal whether or not life on Mars existed, and if you haven’t figured it out… as big and vivid as those memories are for us today, this was the same year that will forever be remembered for the 9/11 attacks.

Take a moment, stop and think. Do you remember where you were? What you were doing for a living? With whom were you spending your time? What you were inspired by? What your dreams and goals were? Could your dreams and goals have been summed up to live life to the fullest?

If you had been asked back then, “What will you be doing ten years from now?” what would you have said? Guess what? It’s been ten years since then. How did it work out for you? Time flies, doesn’t it?

Ready for a “Do Over?”

If so, pull out a piece of paper, something to write with and answer the following questions.

Do you want to live life to the fullest the next ten years of your life?

Will you begin living life to the fullest today in order to create the life you want tomorrow?

What will you no longer tolerate in your life from this day forward?

What will you commit to from this day forward? What will you stand for?

What actions can you take right now to begin living life to the fullest?

What you’ll want to embrace is the fact that the next ten years are going to pass, regardless. Where do you want to be when they do? We’re already one week into the New Year, how are those resolutions going? You can make excuses or you can make a life, but you can’t do both; And nobody is going to do it for you. 2021 will be here before you know it and you’ll look back on this day in much the same way you look back on 2001 and you’ll realize what an amazing opportunity you had. When you look back, will you be fulfilled or filled with regret?

Decide today to live life to the fullest making the next ten the best years of your life. It’s never too late to be, do or have what you might’ve been, done or had. All it takes is first a decision, so decide… and realize that if you don’t decide, that too is a decision. Second, it takes action. Third, monitor what’s working and what’s not. Finally, keep altering your approach until you are living life to the fullest.

Assuming you have decided, what action can you take this very moment that will launch your next decade into the right direction?
